What happens when they close their eyes for the last time?
We speak of heaven and how they’re dancing and singing with the angels
That’s easy to imagine
But it doesn’t stop the pain from coming in waves
God wanted them home a bit quicker than we thought
We can’t help but ask ‘why’
Why them? Why now?
It’s easier to imagine that their work is done here
That heaven is way better than this earth
Eases the ache a little
But what happens now?
Now there’s a vacuum at their address
Clothes they’ll never wear
Places they’ll never visit
Pictures they’ll never be in
Now we grief
And then we heal…
Hearts anchored in hope
That this is not the end
Someday we will meet again
